Experimental errors were not taking the force of friction into account. Friction needs to be accounted for, or else the results could be totally worthless. We only did trials of varying masses but we needed to vary the masses and take multiple trials with all the masses. We did not initially perform this lab correctly. We expected the theoretical and actual accelerations to be the same, but they were not of course. The car was constant and when calculating the accelerations everything was constant. We manipulated all of these but settled on one specific distance and mass to calculate the actual and theoretical accelerations. The variables in this lab were the masses attached to the string and the distance that the car traveled. Then we calculated the theoretical acceleration of the car to be 4.146 m/s^2. Using the time from the timers, we calculated the actual acceleration of the car to be 2.853 m/s^2 with an attached mass of 250 grams.
